U.S. first lady Melania Trump received Ukraine's Order of Princess Olga, 1st Class, from President Volodymyr Zelensky on Nov. 4, 2026. A presidential decree cited her humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, human rights advocacy and charitable work.

The recognition covered support for people affected by Russia's war, along with efforts to bring home abducted Ukrainian children. It followed the evacuation of nearly 800 people from Russian-occupied Oleshky days earlier, a humanitarian operation she helped broker with others.

Trump has acted as a diplomatic intermediary seeking the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. She opened a channel for negotiations after sending a personal letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin in August 2025.

Ukraine awards the state decoration to women whose exceptional personal contributions span state service, science, education, culture and charity. Other recipients include EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and Nancy Pelosi, a former U.S. House speaker who remains a representative.
