Switch 2 sales drop 37.4 percent as Nintendo profit rises
Nintendo retained its forecast of 16.5 million consoles for the fiscal year after increasing the system's US price to US$500.

Nintendo's latest earnings figures put Switch 2 sales at 6.49 million units across the six months ending September 30, a year-over-year decline of 37.4 percent. Net profit moved in the opposite direction, rising 11 percent as software sales and the latest Super Mario movie supported earnings.
The company recorded 3.82 million console sales during its first quarter, followed by 2.67 million during its second. A year earlier, the corresponding six-month total was 10.36 million. The system debuted on June 5, 2025, and Nintendo had anticipated strong demand after launch.
The results cover a period beginning in April. In early May, Nintendo announced a US$50 increase that brought the console's US price to US$500, citing memory costs and US tariffs. Nintendo said new titles were among the factors continuing to attract buyers to the system.
Despite the decline, Nintendo made no change to its projection of 16.5 million Switch 2 sales for the current fiscal year. Sales in the previous fiscal year reached 19.86 million units.
