Apple is seeking approximately US$7 billion from a planned bond offering that has drawn around US$31 billion in investor orders, Bloomberg reported. A preliminary prospectus submitted to the SEC outlines seven series but does not state the amount the company intends to raise.

The bonds would mature between 2028 and 2036. Apple said the money would support general corporate purposes, with possible uses including acquisitions, debt repayment, dividends and share repurchases. The filing does not specifically mention artificial intelligence.

Bloomberg reported that investor appetite had helped Apple obtain better borrowing terms. Investors were prepared to accept interest rates below those offered in recent bond sales by Microsoft, Meta and Oracle, according to Bloomberg.

Apple previously raised US$4.5 billion in May 2025 through an offering divided into four parts. That sale received approximately US$10 billion in orders. The company also issued bonds in 2015, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

The size and pricing of the new offering are expected to be finalized soon. Apple would then submit the definitive terms to the SEC.
