According to the report, gems certified by their organization pass rigorous testing standards before they are offered to customers. Less than 5% of jewelers have the AGS certification. After certification, jewelers must continue on to get their titles or designations like Certified Gemologist, Certified Gemologist Appraiser, and Independent Certified Gemologist Appraiser.
