Mr. Hood, of McGowan, Hood & Felder, has long built a relationship of trust with the Rock Hill community, and in his capacity as the South Carolina Abuse Guardian—a representative of the only national alliance of sexual abuse attorneys—he is pleased to now be working harder to support the victims of private school sexual abuse cases.

With sexual misconduct among teaching, administrative and support staff sadly still remaining high in the United States, and with new challenges arising facing today’s children and teenagers around pornography, sexting, and non-consensual image sharing, Randall Hood, Esq. believes there is a need for more specialized representation.

As such, he is pleased to now be helping the victims of private school sexual abuse cases to bring a civil litigation suit against both their abuser and the private school that abuser is employed by. As Mr. Hood explains, as private schools are typically a limited liability company (LLC) or another type of private corporation, they can be sued.

Therefore, should a private school have been negligent in their duty of care of a child, should they have failed in their safe hiring responsibilities and/or should they have contributed to a culture of silence that has shamed the victim of abuse, Mr. Hood, the South Carolina Abuse Guardian, can sue for damages. These damages will encompass both the physical and emotional injuries that have been endured by the victim, and the ongoing challenges they will face as a consequence of the abuse.

Randall Hood, Esq. stresses that all forms of unwanted sexual contact are abuse, including inappropriate communication, inappropriate touching and forced sexual acts, and all of these can be included in a lawsuit.
