Throughout her academic career, Dr. Tsai graduated summa cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with a bachelor's degree in Biology with departmental honors. She then earned her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 1995.
Four years later, in 1999, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
With a passion for her profession, Dr. Tsai is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women's health.
Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system - vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
