Get to know Registered Nurse, Joyce J. Cottrell, who serves patients in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

New York City, New York Aug 18, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Joyce is a registered nurse at Senior Care Venture Providers LLC, a home healthcare agency in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Senior Care Venture Providers LLC was established to provide skilled and non-skilled care to patients in the comfort of their own homes. This way, they can be helped to adapt to their home environment amid a physically limiting condition or after a hospitalization, regain independence, and achieve optimal wellness.

"Our services are provided to patients who choose to stay at home instead of in a nursing facility. We have a pool of trained and experienced nurses, home health aides, and caregivers who can provide the exact level of care and assistance as needed. If your loved one had a recent surgery or has been hospitalized, we can provide the necessary care and support to help them regain their strength and stay in good health" as stated on their website.

When she was young, Joyce wanted to be either a lawyer or a doctor. When she graduated high school in Tanzania, she was selected for the nursing school. She knew that was a green light. She stayed in nursing because being at the bedside and helping people who cannot help themselves, made her push on. She knew that was where she belonged. Years later, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa in 2004.

From bedside nursing to the administrative side, Joyce has held different positions throughout her nursing career, including being Director of Nursing at Kensington Park Senior Living in Kensington, Maryland, and Quality Assurance Manager at Hebrew Home of the Greater Washington in Rockville.

She is also a Founder/President of adacottrellfoundation.org in the honor of her Beloved  Husband Robert Cottrell, who passed away after battling stage 4 colon cancer in 2018. Joyce did not end there. In 2019, she started a home care agency by the name of Senior Care Venture Providers LLC so that she can have the flexibility to take care of her 8-year-old daughter while continuing to help seniors and other patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Holding certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Joyce is a Delegating Nurse, Clinical Instructor, and she is working toward getting her Forensic Nurse Examiner Licensure.

Joyce is an active member of the American Nurses Association, the Tanzanian Community Association, and the International Women's Leadership Association.

A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province, or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients' symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up. As a frontline, she dedicates her life to continue saving her community as well as everywhere around the country, and is honored to provide all these services with dignity.

In 2014, Joyce was recognized for her contribution to family, career, and community by being awarded and registered as a Women of Outstanding Leadership from the International Women's Leadership Association. In 2016, she was qualified for inclusion in Worldwide Publisheing's Prestigious Roster and awarded for Top Female Executive for Outstanding Professional Excellence and Dedication.
