GED Test stands for General Education Development Test - an exam to get a certificate equivalent to a high school diploma in the US. The GED test is for people who have not graduated from high school or countries other than the US but whose degrees are not valid or for those who want to review basic high school knowledge to prepare to enter university. The GED certificate is globally valid and can replace a diploma to apply to colleges and universities worldwide.

GED revolves around four main subjects:

• Mathematical reasoning has 49 questions and is divided into 2 parts. Users can refer to arithmetic formulas for both parts and use the TI-30XS calculator for the second part.
• Reasoning through language arts is divided into essay reading and language. Of these, 75% are informative, and 25% are literary.
• Science has 40 questions, and candidates are allowed to use the TI-30XS calculator.
• Social studies have 44 questions, and candidates are allowed to use the TI-30XS calculator.

Candidates have at least 1 hour to complete 1 subject. Thus, the GED test has a total time of at least 4 hours. The test questions are a mix of the traditional multiple-choice format, drag-and-drop, fill-in-the-blank, hot spot and extended response (short and long essay) types. Candidates can actively choose English or Spanish when taking the GED test. Each subject test has a scale of 100 to 200. Candidates need to score at least 145 for each subject and at least 580 to pass the GED test.

Candidates 18 years of age or older can self-register. 17-year-olds need a Letter of Consent signed by a parent or guardian. GED certification is necessary. Owners can use the GED as an alternative to a diploma to apply to US colleges/universities/private schools, the US Army, or other job positions.
